16-19 of August: Workshop on Permaculture
‘Permaculture’ results from combining two words: PERMAnent agriCULTURE or PERMAnent CULTURE, and refers to a permanent or perpetual agriculture or culture. The vision of permaculture is that of the least invasive human activity so that future generations can live in harmony with nature without suffering the effects of overusing the natural resources. The ‘permanent’ means not ‘unchanging’ but rather signifies stability, preservation of soil’s fertility and of the quality of water, sensible management of natural resources, use of renewable energy sources, bio-diversity, self-sufficient local communities, social justice, peace and prosperity.
The basics, ethics and design principle of permaculture will be introduced to us by Robert Błaszczyk, who for many years has been researching and promoting permaculture:
- we will talk about how to care for our natural environment and how to organize surrounding reality according to permaculture, we’ll talk about organic agriculture, self-sustaining habitats and alternative energy sources
- Robert will tell us about forest gardens and will introduce to us the practice of creating such gardens
- we’ll build our own rocket-stoves!
- and if there’s enough time, we will take a dive into the neighborhood, we’ll search for edible city palnts and we’ll cook something delicious :)
